Russia spreads misinformation that Ukraine stores Western-provided weapons at Rivne NPP
The Center for Countering Disinformation has revealed new disinformation from Russian intelligence about the alleged storage of weapons and ammunition provided by partners to Ukraine on the territory of the Rivne nuclear power plant
The Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council informed on Russia’s misinformation campaign, Espreso TV reports.
According to the Center, fake statements by Russian intelligence say that "the Ukrainian Armed Forces have turned the territory of a nuclear power plant into their arsenals... In particular, HIMARS missiles and other foreign air defense systems, as well as artillery ammunition are stored in the NPP’s warehouses."
"At the same time, the occupying Russian forces expressed hope that "no one in Kyiv would think of deliberately blowing up ammunition warehouses at the nuclear power plant to get more weapons from the West.” We warn you that this information is false!" the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized.
The Center also added that the fake statement spread by Russian intelligence contradicts the announcement of "the start of the IAEA mission at the Rivne NPP, which will record any threats that may be posed by military actions."
"By publishing such disinformation, the enemy may be preparing the ground for concealing future crimes against our country and exacerbating panic among Ukrainians," the Center for Countering Disinformation explained.
