Russia pulls up reserves in south fearing breakthrough – Ukrainian Armed Forces

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive in the Melitopol sector. Defense forces are consolidating their positions on the occupied lines, inflicting losses on Russian troops and exhausting the enemy. Active defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues in the area of Zavitne Bazhannya village. Commanders on the ground are trying to improve the tactical situation, counter-battery combat is underway," noted Shtupun.

According to him, Russian forces are losing 6 to 10 artillery systems daily in the Tavria sector.

"On the outskirts of Verbove, the Ukrainian army is preparing for further actions by creating defensive lines. Ukrainian artillery is working, and the enemy is trying to replenish its losses. The enemy is pulling up reserves because it is afraid of a breakthrough. I believe there will be good news soon," added Shtupun.

• Russian leader Vladimir Putin has instructed Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to improve the situation at the front by early October, stop the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counter-offensive and return the initiative to Russian troops to launch an offensive operation.
