Russia accuses Ukraine of spreading "fake news" about Russian army stealing radioactive waste from Chornobyl and contaminating Kyiv region
Russia's Defense Ministry says Kyiv is preparing "fake evidence" of the Russian military's removal of radioactive materials outside the Chornobyl exclusion zone and "exposure of the population of the temporarily occupied territories"

"Fake evidence is being prepared of the alleged theft of radioactive materials, chemical solutions and radiation-contaminated equipment by Russian military personnel and the Russian troops taking items containing hazardous radionuclides outside the exclusion zone," the publication notes, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
The Russian ministry also stated that specialists from the Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority were involved in the preparation of a "documentary basis" and an "independent opinion" on the impact of radiation on the population of the north and northwest of Kyiv region.
