"Kherson residents have actually become the invading Russian forces' hostages on their native land" - Roman Holovnia
Roman Holovnia, advisor to the mayor of Kherson, says that the city's residents are currently trapped because the invading Russian forces are actually holding them hostage, blocking the only exit to the territory controlled by Ukraine
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Today, the residents of Kherson have actually become hostages of the invading Russian forces on their native land. The only exit to the controlled territory in Vasylivka is blocked. They let 10-20 cars through every day, probably just to show some traffic. According to various information, there are 5,000-6,000 civilians, precisely at the point of concentration of the exit crossing. One gets the impression that they are simply covering themselves with these civilians who were detained in front of the frontline," Roman Holovnia said.
The adviser to the mayor of Kherson noted that the residents of Kherson are currently trapped, because the occupying Russian forces are actually holding them hostage.
"Actually, today there is no possibility for the residents of Kherson to enter the territory under the control of Ukraine. I emphasize once again that today the people of Kherson are hostages of the Russian Federation, and the Russian forces disguise themselves as peaceful residents, make statements that they want to evacuate, but, hiding behind the backs of our compatriots, conduct hostilities," he added.
