Invading Russian forces amass military equipment 60 m from reactor at Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant - UK intelligence
UK intelligence has published its latest update on the current situation in Ukraine. Russian troops have placed their armored personnel carriers just 60 meters from reactor No. 5 at Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZNPP).
This information was published on August 25 on Twitter by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
In the new intelligence materials, it is said that the Russian military is concentrating its military equipment 60 meters from the fifth reactor of the nuclear power plant. According to scouts, the occupiers tried to hide their vehicles behind pipes and gantry cranes in this way.
"Russia is probably prepared to exploit any Ukrainian military activity near ZNPP for propaganda purposes," the intelligence agency reports.
They also noted that While Russia maintains the military occupation of ZNPP, the principal risks to reactor operations are likely to remain disruption to the reactors’ cooling systems, damage to its back-up power supply, or errors by workers operating under pressure.
