Hopefully, Zelenskyy hasn't signaled to Xi about talks with Russia – MP Syniutka
Ukrainian lawmaker Oleh Syniutka believes that China is not thinking about Ukraine, but is focusing on its global competition with the US and the EU
He shared his point of view on Espreso TV.
“We need to wait for official information about the conversation between the President of Ukraine and the President of China. But China will stand by its position and promote its so-called peace plan. China is not thinking about Ukraine, China is thinking about its global competition with the US and the EU. We understand that Russia will not leave the territory of Ukraine on its own, it will not leave either the mainland of Ukraine or Crimea,” Syniutka emphasized.
The Ukrainian MP also added that de-occupation of Ukraine is possible only by military means.
“De-occupation of Ukraine is a military step. We are grateful for the weapons supplied by our Western allies and the training provided to Ukrainian soldiers. Therefore, to talk about negotiations means to fix the line on which the occupiers and Ukrainian troops are currently standing. I would like to understand that the President of Ukraine has not given any signals to Xi that he is ready for such a conversation or for negotiations with Russia,” Syniutka emphasized.
