EU pays Ukraine new tranche of macrofinance - €1.5 billion
On Tuesday, August 22, the European Union provided Ukraine with the next 1.5 billion euros as part of macro-financial assistance for the restoration of infrastructure
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, informed about this.
"We are supporting Ukraine in its efforts to repair, recover and keep the state running. Today we paid a new €1.5 billion to Ukraine," she said.
She emphasized that there will be even more help this year and beyond.

On May 23, the European Commission gave Ukraine €1.5 billion to help its economy. This money will be used to pay people's salaries, pensions, and fix critical infrastructure.

By May 30, the International Monetary Fund and Ukraine's government agreed to review their money plan. This means Ukraine could get $900 million from the IMF.

Then, on July 3, Ukraine got another part of the money from the IMF. This time, it was $890 million.

And on July 25, the European Union gave Ukraine another €1.5 billion.
