Ukrainian troops can break through Russian defenses by winter
This is the opinion of the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces, Colonel Mart Vendla.
This was reported by ETV.
"It is important to mention that Ukraine can use all the tools available to it more effectively and more precisely than the Russians, since they have combat intelligence of a relatively good quality level, and through this they can maximize the impact of the forces. As a result, all these strikes in depth serve the same purpose and isolate a force on the battlefield from both ammunition and food, from this and that. This will definitely help the situation," the colonel said about the advantage in long-range artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the accuracy of strikes.
According to Vendla, Ukraine can move forward before the onset of winter, but much depends on the actions of Russia, whose steps are unpredictable.
"But it is understandable that the 1,000 km frontline is not defended evenly; that is, Ukraine, on being able to discover gaps in the defensive line, getting better trained in small-unit tactics and having more accurate firing and better intelligence information – then they certainly have a chance," Vendla added.
Intelligence tests new Ukrainian drone SpyGun in combat zone
This was reported by the press service of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR).
The SpyGun drone is designed for far-away scouting, and it can also help aim artillery if needed.
This setup includes two drones and a control station on the ground.
The military mentioned that because of its modern radio control system, which is really good at resisting electronic interference, the spying drone can work from up to 50 km away.
The SpyGun drone can fly back to where it took off automatically, and its aerodynamics mean it can glide along its chosen path without the engine running, which saves the battery.
UK imposes new sanctions on individuals and businesses supporting Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine
This is stated in the UK government’s press release.
Thus, two Turkish companies, Turkik Union and Azu International, were sanctioned. They helped export microelectronics to Russia, which is important for Russia's military activities in Ukraine. Also on the sanctions list was Aeromotus Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Trading LLC, a Dubai-based company that played a role in supplying drones and components to Russia.
In addition, the UK imposed sanctions against Slovakian citizen Ashot Mkrtychev, who was involved in an attempt to conclude arms deals between North Korea and Russia. The sanctions package also includes Swiss citizen Anselm Oskar Schmucki for his role in the Russian financial services sector, in particular, he was the head of the Moscow office of DuLac Capital Ltd.
The statement adds that the sanctions also targeted individuals and legal entities from Iran involved in the research, development and production of drones for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Belarusian defense companies associated with the production of military equipment for the Belarusian regime were also included in the sanctions list. This, according to the UK government, directly contributed to the illegal invasion of Ukraine.
Ukrainian Armed Forces have reached Russia’s first line of defense in Tavria sector
This was reported by the deputy commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping Serhiy Kuzmin.
"We have already reached the first defensive line of the occupying Russian forces. It is very difficult, but the Ukrainian military is pushing through it, we are moving forward. This movement is somewhat slowed down by minefields and our lack of aviation," Kuzmin said.

Ukrainian government cancels another agreement with Russia
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has canceled the intergovernmental agreement with Russia on cooperation in the field of industrial property protection. The government made the decision at a meeting on August 8.
The intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of industrial property protection was signed between Ukraine and Russia in 1993. The document, among other things, recognised the validity of previously issued USSR titles of protection for industrial property on their territories. The agreement stipulated that individuals and legal entities of one state would use patent collections, libraries, and data banks related to industrial property on the territory of the other state on the same terms as their own individuals and legal entities.
Among other things, the agreement also granted applicants from the Russian Federation the right to file applications for the issuance of titles of protection of Ukraine with the Patent Office of Ukraine and to conduct correspondence on them in Russian.
