Ukrainian Armed Forces learn from initial probing actions in Zaporizhzhia region, while Russians try to retreat to main line of defense — military expert Zgurets
Russian forces in the Zaporizhzhia region are trying to slowly retreat to the main line of defense, which is located 10 km along the line of the village of Staromlynivka
Military expert Serhii Zgurets stated this on Espreso.
"I believe that Ukraine is learning from the initial probing actions. The number of forces engaged in the Orikhiv and Velyka Novosilka directions is not significant. Ukraine has a considerable number of reserves available. The enemy is also regrouping, and it seems to me that they are organizing their troops quite well. I wouldn't say the Russians are panicking. Based on my assessment, they are slowly retreating towards their main defense line, which starts around 10 km away near the village of Staromlynivka,” he said.
According to Zgurets, the Russian Federation will make maximum use of technical means, such as mines, anti-tank weapons, helicopters, and possibly aviation, to hinder the progress of Ukrainian forces.
“Therefore, we need to draw conclusions on how to prepare our units tactically, ensuring the advancement of our main forces with minimal losses. We need to identify priorities and adapt the behavior of our brigades accordingly. Despite some losses in equipment and a few casualties, our brigades are performing well. Our maneuver groups are gaining valuable combat coordination experience, refining command and interaction at different levels. The command is fairly balanced in terms of deploying forces and resources,” Zgurets explained.
