Ukrainian Armed Forces establish presence on Dnipro’s left bank, not yet a foothold
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have been maintaining a presence on the left bank of the Dnipro River, Kherson region, for some time now, unlike previous Ukrainian raids, but these positions cannot yet be considered a foothold
This is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The report noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces took up positions west of the Kozachi Laheri after several days of limited raids across the Dnipro River. Russian military bloggers claimed that Ukrainian reconnaissance groups continue to operate west of Kozachi Laheri , but the settlement itself is still occupied.
According to analysts, Ukrainian reconnaissance groups operate in the area of Antonivskyi Bridge and Hola Prystan and conduct raids across the Dnipro River. According to the experts, Russia's statements that the Ukrainian Defense Forces maintain a presence on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River suggest that Russian forces are concerned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have taken up semi-permanent positions on the bank.
ISW believes that an effective Russian mechanized counterattack could jeopardize the Ukrainian forward position, but it is unclear whether Russian forces have the necessary mechanized reserves to do so.
