Ukraine’s Armed Forces are 30 km from Kherson - political scientist Molchanov
Political scientist Volodymyr Molchanov has said that Ukraine’s Armed Forces are 30 km from Kherson, not 15 km, as other other officials had suggested.
He made the comments on air on Espreso TV.
"Sometimes it seems that not all those who comment on the course of the war are familiar with the geography of Ukraine. When Mr Arestovich says that Ukrainian Forces are 18 kilometres from Kherson, while at the same time mentioning the Tavriyske and Blahodatne settlements, he is greatly mistaken. Clearly the distance from these settlements to Kherson is 30-40 km, and the distance separating Ukrainian troops from Kherson is 30-40 km. Our troops are advancing not on the territories that Arestovich mentions. Our troops have a position in the Davydiv Brid settlement region. That's where our troops are seeing some success," Molchanov said.
Molchanov added that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Arestovich has repeatedly provided inaccurate information.
"Kherson residents have a lot of questions for Mr. Arestovych. Everyone remembers well what Arestovych said about Kherson. Especially his words about the reasons for the rapid occupation of the Kherson region. Therefore, today Kherson residents are largely to blame Arestovych for this. Not because he did it, but because he voiced it. That's why his words are treated as ambiguous now," Molchanov added.
