There is no official evacuation in Kherson, people travel at their own risk to neighboring regions - Kholodar
The deputy of the Suvorov District Council of Kherson, Yevgen Kholodar, said that, on the one hand, there is silence in the city and there is no war, but when you meet armored vehicles on the street with a machine gun aimed at you, you understand everything
He expressed this opinion on the air of Espreso.TV
"Kherson is trying to keep the line. Trying to be useful in every way and trying to survive. On the one hand, there is silence and nothing like that happens and there is no war, but when you meet armored vehicles on the street with a machine gun pointed at you, you quickly understand what is what. There are many problems, but after the tragic events in Bucha and other cities, we have intensified the evacuation of people. There is no official evacuation, that is, people act on their own, but they try to leave for neighboring regions from the occupied territory. And this is a big risk, but many people still decide to take it", Kholodar said.
The deputy also drew attention to the fact that there is no medicine in pharmacies.
"There is a very big problem with the medicine, they are also not available in pharmacies at all. But we are very happy, thanks to volunteers, thanks to cooperation with the mayor of the city, many are involved, we have a humanitarian delivery of medicines. Their dispensing is organized through family specialized doctors, at points of dispensing in all hospitals in the city. Volunteers continue to deliver food for those who cannot feed themselves, this is hot meals. Unfortunately, kidnapping continues", Kholodar said.
The United Nations calls for access to trapped Ukrainians in war zones after saying people in occupied areas are dying of hunger.
