"The war with Russia cannot be stopped by Putin" - Portnikov

This war can be stopped only by those who want to restore Ukraine's territorial integrity and freedom

This was stated by journalist Vitaly Portnikov on the air of Zhytomyr Wave (Zhytomyrska Khvylia).

“The one who started this war (Vladimir Putin - Ed.) will not stop it. Because he has an absolutely obvious political will to destroy the Ukrainian state and to expel Ukrainians from their lands. Now, 8 months after the start of a full-scale war, we can talk about it with absolute confidence,” Vitaly Portnikov noted.

He explains that the initial goal of the war was to change the Ukrainian government to a puppet government that would carry out Putin's orders. In particular, it is said that this so-called government would ensure the annexation of Ukrainian lands to Russia in a quasi-legitimate way.

“Now that the Russian Federation is convinced that the majority of Ukrainian citizens are not going to accept the Russian aggressors as liberators, it has other priorities. These priorities are obvious: conquer the territory of Ukraine and expel or destroy the disloyal population from this territory. 100 years ago, the Bolsheviks succeeded - they won. They occupied all of Ukraine,” the journalist emphasized.

Vitaly Portnikov also added that those who were not destroyed were liquidated during the Holodomor.

“This is a tactic that has already been used. And the people who used it in Moscow were considered the winners in the civil war. Although it was not a civil war, but the occupation of Ukrainian lands. So there is only one way to end this war - by expelling the Russian forces from Ukrainian territory. And perhaps this should happen in parallel, perhaps after this expulsion, with the accession of Ukraine to NATO,” the journalist concluded.

  • As we wrote earlier, journalist Vitaly Portnikov believes that the time will come in Russia when the FSB and the army will have to defend themselves from their own people.
