Strikes on Russian railways increase pressure on internal security forces - British intelligence
British intelligence has noted that Russia is unlikely to be able to protect its railroad network from possible future attacks, and these strikes increase pressure on internal security
The British Ministry of Defense reports.
Recently, accidents have become more frequent on the Russian railroad near the border with Ukraine. These are sabotage attacks by unknown individuals who blow up railroad tracks. This leads to short-term interruptions in the movement of the Russian military railroad.
Experts have noted that accidents on the Russian railroad will increase pressure on security forces, which are unlikely to be able to fully protect their network from attacks.
"Although its (Russia's - ed.) Railway Troop Brigades are capable of restoring lines quickly, these incidents will increase pressure on Russia's internal security forces, who will highly likely remain unable to fully protect Russia's vast and vulnerable rail network from attack," the agency writes.
