Russian forces plan to resume education in occupied Kherson region, forcing teachers to work - Kherson City Council secretary
Secretary of the Kherson City Council Halyna Luhova has said that Russian forces are already trying to legitimize their actions in the Kherson region. They are planning to resume educational provision in the occupied Kherson region.
She shared the update with Espreso.
"In the Kherson region, Russia is trying to become more legally justified, passports continue to be issued. Teachers and school principals continue to be pressured in the occupied territories. Now the pressure on teachers and school principals has increased. I now work in Vinnytsia. In fact, in recent days there have been a large number of teachers who come to Vinnytsia with their families. I think they are being evacuated not only here," Luhova said.
She also noted that almost half of the teachers left the Kherson region.
"The occupiers demand that educational institutions provide data on all teachers, all those who work at the school, so that they go to work. The occupiers plan to open 17 schools out of 63 in the city in Kherson. The number of teachers has decreased, many have left. According to 2,614 teachers, about 1,000 people have already left," she said.
