Russian forces maintain combat capability, try to gain foothold in occupied territory of Kherson region
In the occupied territory of the Kherson region, a group of Russian troops almost completely survived and retained its combat capability
Andrii Teteruk, an officer of the Free Ukraine volunteer formation, said this on Espreso TV.
“Now they are trying to gain a foothold on these lines, which they are holding, because this grouping of troops is primarily a strike force. They were prepared to have the ability to capture new territories and to have a bridgehead for the capture of Odesa,” the military officer noted.
According to Andrii Teteruk, this grouping of occupying Russian troops almost completely survived and, as a result of the retreat, retained its combat capability. Those parts that suffered from fire damage are a small percentage of those that were in the southern direction.
“It is obvious that the Russian Federation hopes that it will be able to seize new territories, so it needs to keep its most combat-capable units preserved. That is why they are now continuing their retreat in an organized manner and entrenching themselves in the territories they want to keep, retreating to Crimea,” Andrii Teteruk emphasized.
