Drones attack Kursk region in Russia

The Russian Ministry of Defense wrote about it.

"Last night, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to launch a terrorist attack using aircraft-type UAVs against targets in the Russian Federation was prevented," the statement said. Russian air defense allegedly destroyed the drone in the Kursk region.

Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot down three Russian Su-34s

This was announced by the Commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk.

"Today, February 29, is a date that falls once every four years, but it is already a regular day for Russians with the loss of another aircraft," he said in a statement.

According to the commander, the Air Force shot down the fighter jet in the eastern direction.

At 11:24 a.m., it was reported about two more downed aircraft. 

"It seems they don't get it! Russian pilots are not drawing any conclusions! Today at about 09:00 two more Su-34s of the occupying Russian forces were destroyed in the Avdiivka and Mariupol sectors!" Oleshchuk wrote.

As a reminder, on February 27, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down two Russian fighters.

Ukrainian military strikes Russian troops in Olenivka

The representative of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Andriy Yusov told Radio Liberty that this is not the first and not the last such attack.

"This is the planned work of the Ukrainian security and defense forces and the effective use of available means. Intelligence on the ground, military intelligence is working to identify places where the enemy is concentrated, manpower and equipment. In this situation, the operation was perfectly worked out, the information was promptly used, and a significant blow was dealt to the enemy," Yusov said.

According to preliminary data, the strike killed 19 Russian troops, including the deputy commander of a Russian military unit, and wounded 12 invaders, including the commander of this unit.

Ukraine targets group of Akhmat soldiers in Bakhmut sector

Ilya Yevlash, the head of the press service of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Troops, said this on the Espreso TV channel.

"The enemy is trying to attack with small assault groups of up to 20 people to recapture the previously lost position, regain control of it for further advancement and gain footholds in the direction of Chasiv Yar. Currently, assault groups of Akhmat units are actively operating there. Recently, one of the brigades holding the defense in this area destroyed one of these groups. First, the assault group moved forward, followed by a reinforcement group. The occupiers were defeated by our artillery and eliminated by drones. The advance group was also detected. It was hit by fire, after which the units refused to continue their offensive," said Yevlash.

Ukrainian IT Army attacks Russia's largest email service

This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation. 

It is stated that not only some domestic users, but also all Mail.ru mail owners outside the Russian Federation lost access to their accounts. 

"Access to email means not only mail, but also the ability to recover passwords, pass two-factor verification, and access to devices," the Ministry of Digital Transformation said. 

The ministry called on Ukrainians to join the IT Army, as "anyone can become a cyberwarrior". 

Ukraine has produced about 200,000 FPV drones since the beginning of the year

In January-February 2024, Ukrainian manufacturers produced about 200 thousand FPV drones. In total, Ukraine plans to produce 2 million drones of various types this year.

Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Hanna Hvozdyar said this in a comment to Forbes.

"The President spoke about 1 million drones - our capacities already allow us to produce as many and even more," the official said.

According to her, Ukrainian facilities can produce about 100,000 drones per month. Thus, the capacity of Ukrainian production will reach the level of 2 million drones of various types, including FPV.
