Ukrainian troops may withdraw from Russia's Kursk region - National Guard reserve major
Ukrainian National Guard reserve major Oleksii Hetman says the operation in the Kursk region was aimed at pulling back Russian troops
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"The question arises as to where the Russians got their heavy equipment from. From the north, there is the Seim River, where bridges were blown up. We have repeatedly heard from our military and political leadership that it was a raid. That is, they started using the word 'raid.' A raid means that military units enter the territory and then leave the city. A raid is a movement back and forth without delay," explained Hetman.
According to the major, it is likely that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in Kursk was aimed at pulling back Russian troops.
"There are many components of this operation, and we can assume that all of them have succeeded. Therefore, I am not sure that we will, as they say, 'stick our necks out.' If the Russians concentrate a large amount of manpower and equipment there, it is likely that we will retreat to our territories," Hetman said.
