Russian troops just 2.5-3 km from Kupyansk, Kharkiv region
Andrii Besedin, the head of the Kupyansk Town Military Administration, has stated that the occupying Russian army is just 2.5 to 3 kilometers from Kupyansk in Kharkiv region
He made these comments during the United News telethon.
Besedin described the situation as difficult, noting that the front line is very close to the town. Russian forces are daily striking settlements in the community, terrorizing people, and damaging critical infrastructure.
He also mentioned that a general evacuation of civilians from the left bank of the Kupyansk community is currently taking place. There are over 2,500 people living in Kupyansk, while more than 1,400 remain on the left bank.
"Due to damage to critical infrastructure, these areas are without electricity, gas, and water. The security situation prevents us from carrying out reconstruction work. We are continuously informing people about the option to evacuate to safer parts of Ukraine," he said.
