How many military aircraft are left in Russia: aviation expert tells
Aviation expert Valerii Romanenko says that despite the losses, Russia still has a fairly strong military aviation capability, and is restoring a number of fighters and attack aircraft
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Today, the number of Russian military aircraft is not decreasing, despite the losses. That's why we need new Western air defense systems to help us offset Russia's superiority in aviation. I hope that we will be able to strengthen our air defense system with a few more Patriot systems," Romanenko explained.
The expert also analyzed and named the number of military aircraft that Russia has after two years of invasion of Ukraine.
"Today, the Russians have 120 Su-34s, which we have been shooting down most actively lately," says Romanenko. "When Russia started the invasion, they had 140 such aircraft. However, over the two years of the war, they managed to build 16 more Su-34s. They have not been able to compensate for some losses. We are talking about Su-25 attack aircraft, as these planes cannot be restored and have not been produced since Soviet times. The Russians managed to increase the number of Su-35 fighters compared to the beginning of the war."
