Putin will not go to Indonesia for G20 summit - diplomat Ohryzko
Volodymyr Ohryzko, diplomat, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in 2007-2009, believes that Putin will appear in the summit online, because he understands that apart from a total information and political disaster, he will not find anything there
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"According to my assessment and analysis of the situation, Putin will not go to Indonesia, because it is obvious that he will run into a scandal. Moreover, the scandal is so loud and obvious that the risks will clearly outweigh some potential photos with several leaders. Obviously, the entire Western world will ignore Putin. In addition, the speeches of the leaders of Western countries, in my opinion, will not be very diplomatic. And against this background, the statements of several countries, such as South Africa, Brazil or Indonesia, are unlikely to be what will save Putin from global shame," he commented.
Volodymyr Ohryzko suggested that, most likely, a decision has already been made to attend the summit online, when it is possible to stop the speech at any moment, as is traditionally done by Russian diplomacy in the person of Lavrov. Apparently, it will be the same this time too, when Putin will say some of his nonsense, and then, after thanking, disappear from the screen so as not to hear what they will say to him in response.
"Regarding President Zelenskyy, his participation is logical and correct. Zelenskyy's address will dot the "i", and attention will also be focused on the key points that the leaders of the G20 countries should hear. This is the best option we have today. because Zelenskyy cannot leave the country for a long time. And Putin understands that, apart from a total information and political disaster, he will not find anything there," Ogryzko explained.
