"Putin changed war strategy after US warning" - Piontkovsky
Political scientist Andrey Piontkovsky says that Putin adopted this new strategy last week
He said this on the air of the Studio Zahid with Antin Borkovskyi program on Espreso TV.
“Moscow developed a different strategy after warnings were given by the top US leadership to Putin personally that if nuclear weapons were used in Ukraine, he would personally be killed, and Russia would face severe consequences. The details were deciphered by retired generals Petraeus and Hodges - within half an hour, the Black Sea Fleet with its coastal bases will be destroyed, and then, if this is not enough, NATO's conventional forces will engage in direct combat with the Russian Armed Forces,” Piontkovsky explained.
According to the political scientist, the Russian leadership replied that a nuclear war is impossible, and there can be no winner in it.
“The Russian Federation came to the following conclusion: we do not need a nuclear war, we will destroy the Ukrainian infrastructure. We will return it to the 18th century, with conventional weapons we will destroy the energy infrastructure, the fuel and energy complex, railways, and so on. And they began to implement this strategy, and have been implemented for the second week,” Piontkovsky noted.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, said that the attacks on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine are the Kremlin's attempts to provoke new waves of refugees to Europe.

On October 22, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the threat of a new wave of refugees to Europe due to Russia's constant shelling of critical infrastructure facilities. “If there is no more electricity, heating, or water in Ukraine, this may cause a new migration tsunami,” he said.
