Petition to award Hero of Ukraine title to Roman Babych, who saved more than 600 soldiers, launched on president's website
A petition to award posthumously the title of Hero of Ukraine to military medic Roman Babych (call sign Dysk) has been published on the website of the President of Ukraine

The initiative is aimed at collecting signatures to award the title of Hero of Ukraine (posthumously) to the soldier Roman Babych (call sign Dysk).
Roman Babych saved the lives of more than 600 soldiers and taught a huge number of people tactical medicine. Instructor Babych was killed in the war on January 25, 2023, when he was saving the lives of his comrades. He was a lieutenant in the medical service. He served in the 1st Mechanized Battalion of the 93rd Guards Separate Mechanized Brigade. He took part in the 2014 Anti-Terrorist Operation, evacuated wounded and killed soldiers from the Donetsk Airport, Avdiivka, Pisky, Vodyane, Opytne, Tonenke, and the strongholds of the Butivka mine.
In 2015, Roman was awarded the Order of the People's Hero of Ukraine. The medic's comrades-in-arms want the state to express its gratitude and recognition and award Roman Babych the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously. To do this, they have created a petition on the website of the President of Ukraine.
