"Only a military defeat and a trial in The Hague can stop Putin" - diplomat Yelchenko

He expressed this opinion on the air of the Verdict with Serhii Rudenko program on Espreso TV. 

“Time has already proven that neither Putin nor the Russian military listens to anyone. Even before the mass attack on Ukraine began, who did not try to be a mediator in the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, as they said. And Berlusconi, and the president of Mexico, the same Elon Musk and Erdogan. Pay attention, for the last 11-12 days we have not heard any ideas about mediation and about negotiations to end the conflict,” Yelchenko noted.

According to the diplomat, the whole world has understood who Putin and the Russian leadership are and what today's Russia is.

“This is a country with which there is nothing to talk about, as it is impossible and unrealistic. That is, only a military defeat can stop them. And then the Hague court or the international tribunal plus compensation for all that they have done in Ukraine,” Yelchenko emphasized.
