Kherson residents are killed daily by Russia’s shelling
Local officials say that despite constant artillery attacks in Kherson, the casualties are relatively small - 1-2 victims per day
Dmytro Pletenchuk, press officer of the Kherson defense commandant's office, said this on Espreso TV.
“The situation has not changed - the shelling continues. Attacks are constant and permanent, and happen almost every hour. The Russian forces use large-caliber barrel artillery, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars. They hit the residential sector and houses. There is a lot of damage - hospitals constantly suffer because of this,” he noted.
Pletenchuk added that now an air raid siren is activated in Kherson.
“Surprisingly, we have relatively few victims, considering the number of shellings. On average, one or two civilians are killed in Kherson per day, but more people are injured,” he said.
He named another problem - the local population does not fully understand what is happening, and there is no perception of reality.
“So far, people react very weakly to shelling and sirens. The situation will be like that until the first mass casualties. The defense commandant’s office constantly calls for compliance with the requirements. We also demand not to go to the right bank of the Dnipro River, which is being fired upon,” he concluded.
