Freedom of Russia Legion says who can threaten Kadyrov's life
Aleksey Baranovsky, a communications adviser to the Russian opposition and the Freedom of Russia Legion, believes that the threat to Kadyrov could have come from the FSB as security forces never considered him theirs
He spoke about this on Espreso TV.
"Ramzan Kadyrov is a favourite of Vladimir Putin. Therefore, Putin would never give any order to neutralise him. Moreover, Kadyrov himself has repeatedly emphasised that he is a loyal dog of the Kremlin's master. In my opinion, if there was a threat to Kadyrov, it came not from the Kremlin, but from Lubyanka," said the Russian opposition communications adviser.
Aleksey Baranovsky noted that for the FSB and security forces, Kadyrov was a complete stranger who had been accidentally brought to the crest of success and patronised by the Kremlin. He was tolerated, but never considered one of their own.
"And now, when the situation in Russia is unstable, the security forces understand that Putin may also fall from power not today or tomorrow, because they have to consider different options. Therefore, they do not need such unpredictable people as Prigozhin and Kadyrov for a stable power vertical. That's why Prigozhin was eliminated, and now Kadyrov is ill. I would not rule out that this is a Lubyanka trace, not a Kremlin trace," Baranovsky stressed.
Rumours of Kadyrov's death
On September 15, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, said that Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov's illness had worsened. According to him, Kadyrov is in a serious condition.
This information about the critical condition of the head of Chechnya was confirmed by various sources. At the same time, it was emphasised that it was not an injury.
Subsequently, on 17 September, a video appeared on Kadyrov's Telegram channel in which the head of Chechnya responded to previous statements about his serious condition.
In the video, Kadyrov walks in the rain and advises everyone "who cannot distinguish truth from lies" to do the same. This is the first personal video of Kadyrov since the information about the Chechen leader's illness began to spread.
At the same time, the media reported that the Chechen leader's plane had been in Moscow for three days. It was noted that the business jet with the number RA-73417 took off from Grozny towards Moscow on September 15 and stopped transmitting a signal in the sky over Volgograd, and flight tracking services did not record its landing.
In addition, the VCHK-OGPU Telegram channel, which is close to Russian law enforcement agencies, reported that most of the vehicles currently on the territory of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Russian Presidential Administration are connected to Chechnya.
The source of the VCHK-OGPU identified in the passenger seat a person who looked very similar to Ramzan Kadyrov's plenipotentiary representative, Said Bekbarzov. The source also identified a person in the other car who looked very similar to Ramzan Kadyrov's nephew Idris Cherkhigov.
On September 18, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin had no information about Kadyrov's possible illness.
