EU ministers have not yet agreed on new package of sanctions against Russia, discussions will continue - Borrell
Foreign ministers of the EU member states have not yet agreed on the 11th package of sanctions against Russia, and therefore will continue to discuss new restrictions
Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, made the statement during a press conference.
"Today we are not in a position to finish a new package of sanctions on Russia. We will continue discussing," Borrell said in Luxembourg before the EU Council meeting.
On April 24, the EU foreign ministers will consider the introduction of new restrictions against Russia, which attacked Ukraine. In particular, a ban on the transit of goods or products through the territory of a country that sponsors terrorism.
Public disclosure of the 11th package of sanctions against Russia will take place after a detailed discussion.
To date, the EU has already applied 10 sanctions packages.
