Elon Musk calls Revolution of Dignity a "coup", President's Office reacts
The President's Office has criticized American billionaire Elon Musk for calling the Revolution of Dignity a "coup"
Mykhailo Podolyak, President’s Office adviser, responded to Elon Musk on Twitter.
He reacted to the comment of the SpaceX owner who said that although the 2010 presidential elections in Ukraine may not have been entirely fair, Viktor Yanukovych was removed from office "as a result of a coup".
"That election was arguably dodgy, but no question that there was indeed a coup," Musk wrote.
"Free societies influence states through dialogue and elections. Enslaved societies take to the streets to rid themselves of repressive states. This is the basis of freedom. There have never been coups in Ukraine, but there have always been free people. Stop reading Russian newspapers," Podolyak wrote.
