Petro Burkovskyi, Executive Director of the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation, noted that China's actions are aimed at supporting Russia

He said this on the Espreso TV channel.

"China is on the side of Russia in Ukraine's war with Russia, and this was clear from the very beginning. They did not make any statements condemning Russia's actions. All of China's statements were aimed at hiding their sympathies for Russia and remaining neutral. But other actions were aimed at supporting Russia. We are talking about the condemnation of sanctions imposed by the United States and Europe for Russia's aggression and crimes. We and our allies see that China still supplies components for Russian industrial enterprises that manufacture or repair weapons," Burkovskyi emphasized.

According to the analyst, Ukraine has several problematic issues with China.

"Even before the war, we had several problematic issues with China. China will try to use Ukraine's difficult situation to persuade us to make certain decisions in China's interests. This is, of course, Motor Sich, which the Chinese tried to buy, but the deal was blocked. China is also interested in supplying raw materials from Ukraine, including iron ore, steel products, and food. On the one hand, the Chinese will try to support Russia, and on the other hand, they will try to bargain for some preferences for themselves," Burkovskyi said.

  • In October 2022, Vyacheslav Boguslayev, the former director of Motor Sich, was detained on suspicion of treason. He is known to have been continuously supplying engines for helicopters and airplanes to the Russian occupiers. Boguslayev has also been a Russian citizen since 2000. The court imposed on him a 2-month detention as a preventive measure.

  • The SBU released evidence of Motor Sich president Boguslayev's cooperation with Russia - audio recordings of phone conversations that confirm his collaboration with the enemy.

  • Schemes (Skhemy) investigative news revealed that the president of Motor Sich Corporation, Vyacheslav Boguslayev, has been a Russian citizen since 2000.

  • On October 24, 2022, the president of Motor Sich, Vyacheslav Bohuslayev, who is suspected of treason and collaboration, was arrested by a court.

  • The head of the Zaporizhzhia Investigations Center, Serhiy Sydorov, said that according to his research, Motor Sich sold aircraft parts to a Russian aircraft repair plant that serves Russia's military-industrial complex for UAH 400 million.

  • On October 26 of that year, aviation expert Bohdan Dolintse said that if it were not for Motor Sich, the Russian Federation would not have established the production of components for helicopters that destroy Ukrainian critical infrastructure.

  • On November 4, 2022, it was reported that, based on SBU investigators' materials, all the property of the president of Motor Sich and the head of the company's foreign economic activity department, who are suspected of working for Russia, was seized.

  • On November 7, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov announced that the assets of Motor Sich, Zaporozhtransformator, AvtoKrAZ, Ukrnafta, and Ukrtatnafta had been transferred to the Ministry of Defense.

  • In February, Vyacheslav Boguslayev was notified of a new suspicion - of facilitating the activities of the DPR terrorist organization.

  • On March 18, Vyacheslav Boguslayev, the former head of Motor Sich, was stripped of the title of honorary citizen of Zaporizhzhia. Earlier, he was detained on suspicion of treason.
