Belgium to buy Sea Sparrow missiles from Germany for Ukraine
Belgium intends to supply Ukraine with Sea Sparrow surface-to-air missiles, which it acquired from Germany, to enhance Ukraine's air defense capabilities
L'Echo reported the information.
Belgium intends to supply Ukraine with 8 Sea Sparrow surface-to-air missiles, with each missile costing approximately EUR 7,000.
The Belgian government also plans to provide Ukraine with equipment worth EUR 150 million in addition to other support projects.
The specific systems that Ukraine will use to launch the Sea Sparrow missiles have not been confirmed. However, there have been reports indicating that Ukraine and Poland are collaborating to integrate the Sea Sparrow missiles into the 9A310 self-propelled gun, which is a component of the Soviet-era Buk air defense system.
