He shared the information on Espreso TV.

"In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively advancing, both near Novoprokopivka and near Robotyne. Our forces have been visually identified on the western outskirts of Verbove, but the situation is dynamic," emphasized Pohorilyi.

According to him, Russian troops are trying to counterattack and pull up reserves.

"Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively advancing in the southern part of Novoprokopivka. Defense forces are trying to break the enemy's defense. The enemy continues to build fortifications, pulls up reserves and equipment. Enemy artillery and aviation are working. The enemy is trying to put pressure in response," added Pohorilyi.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive in the direction of the Zaporizhzhia region

On August 21, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were successful near Robotyne and south of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

On August 22, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that the Ukrainian military had succeeded in the direction of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, and were consolidating the lines they had reached. At the same time, the Russian army is relocating its troops and using reserves.

On Tuesday, August 22, Ukrainian defenders of the 47th separate mechanized brigade entered the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, and organized the evacuation of civilians. Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier Viktor Burlyk reported that the Ukrainian army had entered Robotyne, but that Russian units were still on the outskirts.

By Wednesday, August 23, the soldiers from the 47th separate mechanized brigade proudly raised the Ukrainian flag with Zaluzhnyi's signature in Robotyne, towards Melitopol.

Later, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued counteroffensive operations near Robotyne in western Zaporizhzhia region on August 25 and advanced as Russian "military commanders" expressed concern about the lack of reinforcements and rotation in the area.

Later, the Institute for the Study of War noted that the Defense Forces made further tactically significant gains in the western part of Zaporizhzhia region, and are likely to advance through a complex series of Russian occupiers' defensive positions.

On August 27, Ukrainian forces advanced south from Robotyne to Novoprokopivka village. Occupiers suffered losses, transferring troops from other areas.

On August 28, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar announced the Ukrainian military's liberation of Robotyne village in Zaporizhzhia region. In the past week, the Defense Forces regained 1 sq. km towards the Bakhmut direction.

On August 29, Natalia Humeniuk said that Russian troops were retreating as Ukrainian troops broke through the Russian defense line in the Zaporizhzhia region.
