Soldiers with 47th Brigade enter Robotyne, local residents evacuated
On August 22, Ukrainian defenders with the 47th Detached Mechanized Brigade entered the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, and organized the evacuation of civilians
This is reported by Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar.
"The soldiers with the 47th Brigade, which entered the village of Robotyne with a fight, organized the evacuation of civilians on Bradley BMPs," she wrote.
Maliar added that Ukrainian soldiers are carrying out planned combat work and destroying the enemy. In response, the Russian forces are continuously shelling Robotyne with artillery.
This information was later confirmed on the official website of the 47th Detached Mechanized Brigade. They stated that fighting was ongoing in Robotyne, and that the military were consolidating their positions.
"Two months of fierce fighting and the soldiers of our brigade, supported by other units, broke through the occupiers' multi-echelon defense line!" the brigade said.
The first thing the servicemen did was to inform the locals about the need to leave immediately, as the Russian enemy cynically continues to wipe the village off the map.
"We waited for the Armed Forces for a year and a half. We grabbed our belongings and documents and ran, throwing away those packages on the way, because life is the most valuable thing. And then these guys from the 47th Brigade took us out in a tank," is how people described the American Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, which can withstand mine explosions and direct hits from enemy artillery.
The military added that in a safer place, medics from the 47th Brigade examined the civilians and gave them the opportunity to call their families.
