Ukrainian girl plays table tennis with Prince William
Ukrainian Anhelina Androsiuk has played ping-pong with Britain’s Prince William in Warsaw
According to Espreso, the Kovel City Council first reported the story.
Anhelina Androsiuk is from Ukraine’s western city of Kovel, who has been studying at the EuroFuture school for 7 years, had the opportunity to play ping-pong with Prince William of Wales when he was in Warsaw on a working visit.
“There was a table tennis tournament that I didn't want to participate in at first, but later I changed my mind. The competition began and I beat all my opponents. Later, we were told that the best players in the tournament had the opportunity to play with Prince William. We played with him in a pair,” she said.
After the game, the girl had a conversation with a member of the royal family, who asked about her family and about Ukraine. He also asked how often she plays tennis and whether she likes it.
“Anhelina did not get confused, she answered. Seeing that my daughter was communicating freely and confidently, the interpreter did not even interfere,” the mother said.
After the conversation, the girl had the opportunity to take a photo with the Prince of Wales.
Britain’s Prince William made an unannounced trip to Poland on Wednesday, meeting British and Polish troops in Rzeszów near Ukraine’s border. Later he went to Warsaw where he visited an accommodation center for Ukrainian refugees, and also met with volunteers who have been helping people displaced by Russia’s war.
