Ukrainian Defense Forces report that Russian troops are preparing for another "gesture" in Kherson region
Ukrainian military are observing Russian troops’ active defense activities on the left bank of Kherson region, mining areas that are considered dangerous and preparing for another "gesture"
Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, said this during the telethon.
"The Russian occupiers are really busy engineering the defense lines - the first, second, and third. They are trying to mine areas that may be dangerous for them in terms of landing, and they are trying to cover almost the entire riverside with mined areas. This is, as the people of Kherson on the right bank say, a folk sign - they are definitely preparing for another “gesture” (“a goodwill gesture” is a meme phrase that means the withdrawal of Russian troops - ed.). They have packed up looted property, sent it away, stocked up on civilian clothes and are now taking such actions - this clearly indicates that they are preparing," she said.
She also noted that air attacks are the biggest threat to the region.
"The number of attacks from ground weapons has decreased slightly. We are now recording 40-50 attacks per day. But there is still air activity," said the head of the press center.
In particular, Humeniuk said that the activity of attack drones was recorded: "The enemy is trying to strike even deeper - further into the rear, not only terrorizing the frontline areas. Snihurivka community was attacked at night - an industrial facility was damaged again, fortunately, without human casualties."
