Stronger intervention of Belarus in war will make Lukashenko weak inside his country
Andrii Stryzhak, Belarusian human rights defender and public activist, believes that a part of Belarusians who are against Belarusian regime, Putin and war can take advantage of the moment of weakness and uncertainty of authorities in Belarus, which is why Lukashenko is delaying introduction of troops into Ukraine
He expressed his opinion live on air of Espreso TV channel.
Belarusian human rights defender commented on the possible consequences for Belarus if Lukashenko decides to send Belarusian troops into Ukraine.
"First of all, it will be a disaster in the international relations between Belarusians and Ukrainians, because we have great family relations as brothers-in-law who live across the border. Part of society that is on Putin's side, will support aggressive actions, but until the moment they are sent as mobilized to Ukraine, because no one wants to die. And that part of Belarusians who are against Lukashenko, Putin and war can take advantage of the moment of weakness and insecurity of authorities in Belarus, and Lukashenko understands this, that is why he is delaying deployment of troops. Lukashenko's stronger intervention in war makes his position weak. Withdrawal of Belarusian army to Ukraine, which is Lukashenko's force, can greatly change the internal situation in Belarus," public activist noted.
Andriy Stryzhak noted that Belarus has been living in a state of cold civil war for two years, in which people are arrested every day and imprisoned for 10-12 years for comments, insults on social networks and all kinds of speeches. Tension in the country is like a compressed spring.
