Russian training its troops in Belarus due to personnel and equipment shortage
Russia is likely struggling to provide military training for the mobilization drive and the annual fall conscription intake due to resource shortage in the country
The UK’s Ministry of Defence shares the intelligence on Twitter.
“Russian forces are conducting training in Belarus due to a shortage of training staff, munitions and facilities in Russia. Deploying forces with little or no training provides little additional offensive combat capability,” the report reads.
According to the ministry, Russia is trying to provide military training for the current mobilization drive and the annual autumn conscription intake. However, the Russian Armed Forces were already stretched trying to train the estimated 300,000 troops needed for its 'partial mobilization,' which was announced on September 21, 2022.
“Newly mobilized conscripts likely have minimal training or no training at all. Experienced officers and trainers have been deployed to fight in Ukraine and some have likely been killed in the conflict,” the ministry adds.
