Russian propagandists accuse Russia's MoD of hiding mistreatment of soldiers in Kherson region - ISW
Russian military bloggers accused the Russian Ministry of Defense for the fifth day of attempting to conceal concerns over the mistreatment of a Southern Military District brigade operating in occupied Kherson region
Institute for the Study of War reports this.
These milbloggers assert that the Russian Ministry of Defense has orchestrated a video featuring five men who claim to be members of the 205th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade. These individuals are urging media bloggers not to discuss the alleged lack of artillery support for the military near the Dnipro River.
A military blogger has highlighted that the Russian military leadership has initiated disciplinary measures against members of the 205th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade who have spoken out about these concerns.
It has been reported that media bloggers have also alleged that the issues with artillery support emerged following the appointment of the former commander of the 100th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade from the so-called Donetsk People's Republic, also known as "Skif," as the commander of the 205th Separate Motorized Brigade. These bloggers claim that "Skif" had previously “destroyed” the 100th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade while receiving state honors.
“The Russian MoD notably has yet to silence these complaints, which may indicate that the Russian military command is unsure it can effectively do so at this time,” the report concluded.
In light of the recent elimination of Wagner Group founder Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Kremlin remains concerned about the potential for a new military uprising in Russia.
