The UK Ministry of Defence has claimed that Putin is trying to deliberately disinform by publicly criticizing the decision to send depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine
Sky News reports this with reference to a statement by the UK Ministry of Defence.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow would react if the UK transfers depleted uranium ammunition to Ukraine and called it a step that "heralds the West switching to supplying Kyiv with weapons containing nuclear components."
The UK Ministry of Defence has confirmed that it will send depleted uranium shells to Ukraine, adding that the British army has been using this material in its shells for decades.
"It is a standard component and has nothing to do with nuclear weapons or capabilities," the MoD said in a statement.
