Russia will formally be able to fight for next 3-5 years - military expert
Valentyn Badrak, military expert and director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies, says that with the available resources, Russia will be able to fight for the next 3-5 years
"Despite the fact that the invading Russian forces have a lot of resources, formally Russia will be able to confidently fight for the next 3-5 years with the approaches that exist now," the military expert said on Espreso TV.
He spoke about the situation with the defense industry of the aggressor state.
"Since 2007, Rostec has appeared in Russia. It is run by a friend of Putin's with whom he worked in Dresden. In fact, more than 1,000 companies are now in the same hands, and all processes are carried out quickly. Russia really aims to scale up everything and get missiles and drones from Iran. That's why Shoigu went there in September and tried to reach an agreement. Also, North Korea will help it as much as it can," Badrak said.
In order to limit Russia, a complete ban on exports to this country should be introduced, with the introduction of powerful secondary sanctions, the expert says.
"Many countries are already hesitating, they are afraid. But we need a complete export ban first from the G7, the EU will probably support it, and then it should grow under the influence of sanctions. Even the countries through which Russia still re-exports various machine tools will resort to this. Therefore, the situation with sanctions is still stalemated, but the Western world realizes that the threats are growing. Eventually, there will be a transition from sanctions to an export ban, it is inevitable. Without this, it will be impossible to restrain the industrial development of the Russian Federation," Valentyn Badrak emphasized.
