Russian military-industrial base cannot fully provide equipment for new army reserves — ISW
The Russian defense industry is unlikely to be able to fully provide equipment and weapons to the new reserves, despite the Russian army's ability to maintain the current pace of operations and efforts to expand the "defense industry"
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) shared the information in its report.
It noted that the Russian command may mistakenly regard the reserve component as a bottomless barrel. However, the Russian industry is capable of producing about 250-300 "new and thoroughly modernized" tanks annually.
In addition, Russian factories can repair and put into service no more than 250-300 tanks after long-term storage or after damage in combat.
Analysts add that even with these higher estimates, the Russian defense industry is unlikely to be able to provide equipment for a large-scale mobilization of manpower, and it will likely have to dramatically increase its capacity to support larger offensive operations, which will take considerable time.
At the same time, ISW experts believe that Russia will be able to expand its technical base and accumulate resources if it retains the initiative in the entire theater of operations through 2024, although it is unlikely to provide large masses of mobilized reservists or conscripts.

Meanwhile, according to the General Staff, the total losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the full-scale invasion have reached almost 390,000 in personnel and 6,348 in tanks.
