Pentagon intelligence believes Russia's war against Ukraine is heading to dead end
Ukraine and Russia lack the military resources to conduct major offensive operations against each other, so the war is heading to a standstill
Bloomberg reported the information.
Estimates by the Pentagon's intelligence agency show that Ukraine still does not have enough ammunition to match Russia's ability to fire about 10,000 artillery shells a day.
“Ukrainian forces remain capable of defensive operations but won’t be able to launch large-scale counteroffensives for at least six months,” the report said.
At the same time, Russia has adopted a strategy of depleting Ukraine. The occupying forces can maintain a buffer zone but lack the strength to "threaten a deeper advance into Ukrainian-held territory, such as Kharkiv city."
The report also mentions Ukraine's success in using the ATACMS missile systems provided by the United States. The Pentagon mentions how the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit several key Russian military targets, in particular in Sevastopol and Crimea.

The US defense department emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrated valor during the offensive in the Kursk region of Russia, but long-term goals are being discussed with the United States.
