Russia tries to regain lost ground near Robotyne 4 times, 40 combat clashes take place at frontline — General Staff

This is stated in the evening report of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for October 29.

Russian attacks on Ukraine 

In total, Russia launched 1 missile and 57 air strikes, and 22 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and at populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private homes, apartment buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed and damaged. In addition, last night, Russian occupying forces attacked Ukraine with 5 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed all UAVs.

Frontline update

Within the last day, 40 combat clashes took place. The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region. Over 10 settlements in the Sumy region were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar shelling.

In Kupyansk direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation near Synkivka and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 7 attacks there. Russian troops also launched air strikes near Synkivka and Novoozynove, Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Lyman direction, Russian troops did not conduct offensive (assault) actions, they continued to regroup their troops. They launched air strikes near Serebryanka forestry and Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and fired artillery and mortars at 4 more settlements.

In Bakhmut direction, Russian troops tried unsuccessfully to regain the lost position near Andriivka. They conducted an air strike near Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Avdiivka direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Avdiivka and 3 more settlements in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian soldiers repelled over 10 attacks there. Russian troops also launched an air strike near Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka, Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar shelling.

In Marinka direction, Russian troops carried out unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation near Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 12 attacks. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

In Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops did not conduct offensive (assault) actions. They launched air strikes near Zolota Nyva and Staromayorske, Donetsk region. About 10 settlements were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar attacks.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops tried 4 times to regain the lost position near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, but failed. They launched air strikes near Novodanilivka and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhya region. About 15 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In Kherson direction, Russian troops conducted air strikes near 4 settlements in the Kherson region. Three settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian Armed Forces continue offensive operation

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue offensive operations in the Melitopol direction and offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, and depleting Russian troops along the entire front line.

During the day, Ukrainian aviation carried out 16 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Ukrainian missile troops destroyed a command and control center and 6 artillery pieces.

• In particular, over the past day, Russian troops tried to encircle Avdiivka in the Bakhmut direction, but Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 attacks and eliminated another 660 Russian soldiers.
