Russia transfers its forces from Belarus to eastern Ukraine to reinforce troops
Ukraine's State Border Service says that there are currently no movements of equipment and personnel on the border, but Russia is sending its forces from Belarus to eastern Ukraine
The spokesman of Ukraine's State Border Service, Andrii Demchenko, said this on the air of the telethon.
Despite this, according to him, the escalation continues due to joint exercises between the Russian Federation and Belarus.
“Near our border, we do not note that there is any movement of equipment or personnel, either by units of Russia or units of Belarus. But, of course, the escalation continues, because Russia and Belarus are constantly conducting their joint military drills. Regular Russian forces are being transferred to the territory of Belarus. Now they are announcing their aviation training,” Demchenko said.
He emphasized that despite the so-called exercises, Russia began to transfer those troops that were in Belarus to the east of Ukraine to support its army in this direction.
“At the same time, the Russian forces, which were previously on the territory of Belarus and undergoing training, are being slowly transferred by Russia to the east of our country in order to reinforce their grouping,” the spokesman said.
He explained that this is done to aggravate the situation, to force Ukraine to keep the necessary amount of troops and equipment near the border with Belarus.
According to Demchenko, there is still no grouping that could start another invasion right now.
