Russia sets up radar to detect threats near temporarily occupied Kerch
In the temporarily occupied Crimea, near the city of Kerch, Russian troops have installed a radar station to detect objects in the air, at sea and on land
Krym.Realii reported the information.
A Russian radar was found on satellite maps near the Olvia quarries. On the E97 highway, on the right side of the road towards Kerch, you can see a military facility where the radar is located.
According to the images, construction began on July 24, 2022, and the radar started its operation in August of the same year.
The object was not visible on Google Maps in 2021.
These satellite images show that Russian troops continue to build new fortifications in the northern Crimea, protecting military and strategic facilities on the temporarily occupied peninsula.
For reference. A radar station or radar, radio-wave detection and ranging system is a system for detecting air, sea and land objects, as well as for determining their range and geometric parameters. It uses a method based on the emission of radio waves and the registration of their reflections from objects.
