Putin starts copying Zelenskyy to look like effective ruler of state
Military expert Mykhailo Samus said Putin's visit to Belarus is a deliberate show of his effectiveness and involvement in the leadership of the state. Also, the Russian media actively disseminated information that Putin spent a day at the headquarters of the Russian troops participating in the "special military operation".
The expert stressed that the Kremlin is trying to show Putin as a powerful enough politician who can visit the front. All this is also connected with the activity of the Ukrainian president, against which they also want to show Putin as brave and involved in the military affairs of Russia. Obviously, there is a certain copying of the Ukrainian president. Putin is trying to create a picture that he has everything under control.
Samus noted that Russia has reached the stage when European sanctions will start working and the Russian economy will weaken. This factor will greatly affect the overall situation in Russia. That is why Putin is trying to look like an effective ruler of state. However, expert claims it is becoming more difficult for him to implement this every day because it will be difficult to unite Russians against an imaginary enemy against the background of economic decline.
