Moldova reacts to Lavrov's statement about "new Ukraine": it is part of Russian diplomacy threatening rhetoric
Moldova is outraged by the statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who predicted the fate of Ukraine for the country and criticized President Maia Sandu
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova stated this, point.md reports.
"We strongly reject statements of the head of Russian diplomacy, which do not correspond to reality and are part of the already known threatening rhetoric of Russian diplomacy. We want to remind Russian side that path taken by Republic of Moldova is the path of joining European Union. This is a project of the country, which was supported by citizens. Moldova as a state and Moldovan residents, regardless of political or geopolitical preferences, want peace, freedom and democracy. We will be grateful if all the countries of the world, including Russian Federation, respect the decision of our people," foreign policy department said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moldova could become the "next Ukraine". He also criticized President Maia Sandu, who is leading the country to NATO.
