Mobilization begins in Belarus. Men who have to register for military service cannot go abroad - Glen Grant
Retired British Army Colonel and military expert Glen Grant believes that there is some activity in Belarus, but not necessarily that it will be able to create a powerful group
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"The Kremlin is conducting some form of mobilization or pre-mobilization training in Belarus. They control everyone there. All men must register, and everyone who tries to leave the country is stopped. There are not so many willing people in Belarus. Many Russian soldiers are not battle-hardened. They are newcomers. All they can bring from Russia is even more mobilized people. There will be another battle when cannon fodder is simply thrown against Ukraine. I don't see any prospects for a coordinated big battle," Grant said.
According to the military expert, Belarus sent ammunition and equipment to Russia, and it is unlikely that they will return. Much has already been destroyed and used, especially ammunition.
"The logistics space behind Belarusians is weak, and it is unlikely that this space will give them the necessary power. They can attack, which will be a problem for the Ukrainian Armed Forces because of the number of troops. The places they can attack are quite narrow and can be well protected. There are many more people in Kyiv who have been in battle, and unlike Belarusians, this will not be their first battle. This arrangement may be a problem, but it's a problem of quantity, not quality. Although the number has its strength," Grant stressed.
