Macron says that France will never seek to crush Russia
French President Emmanuel Macron says he wants Ukraine to win the war with Russia, but doesn't want Russia to be crushed
This was reported by DW.
“I don't think, as some people do, that we should strive for the complete defeat of Russia, to attack on its territory. These observers first of all want to crush Russia. This has never been France's position and will never be,” he said.
In an interview with the French media, Emmanuel Macron suggested that neither side in the war would gain a major advantage on the battlefield.
“I want Ukraine to be able to defend its position, but I am convinced that this will not end in a military way,” the French president emphasized.
