Kuleba reveals on whom decision to transfer of F-16 fighters to Ukraine depends
Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, said that in the matter of transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, Germany's word is not a key one, because it is American technology
He said this in an interview with BBC.
"For any other country to give us the F-16, we would need the consent of the United States," Kuleba said.
When asked by a journalist, what is the role of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his will to hand over or not to hand over aircraft, the minister answered: "I think it is some kind of inertia in the perception of transfer of weapons: what is Scholz thinking? Why was the position of Germany and Chancellor Scholz important regarding Leopard tanks? It's a German technology, so the word of Germany was decisive. In the matter of aircraft, Germany's word is not the key one, because it's American technology."
