Kremlin reacts to information about Russian intention to stage coup in Moldova
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova claims that the Kremlin did not try to stage a coup d'état in Moldova, instead Kyiv wants to drag its neighbor into a war with Russia
Russian mass media write about it.
Zakharova called the statements of Kyiv and Chisinau "unfounded and lacking evidence".
"This is in the style of classic techniques often used by the USA, other Western countries and Ukraine – to make an accusation with reference to alleged intelligence information and then use it to justify their own illegal actions... The real goal of Kyiv in terms of their disinformation about "the Russian destabilization plan of Moldova" is to involve Chisinau in a tough confrontation with Russia. And the authorities of Moldova support this disinformation so they can use the Russian threat myth to divert attention from internal problems created primarily by the unsuccessful socio-economic course of the current government, and to intensify the fight against dissidents and political opponents," Zakharova said.
She assured Maya Sandu that the Kremlin has no plans to seize Moldova.
